Deborah Hanna Obituary
Deborah Ann Hanna, age 76, of Brandywine, WV, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2026, at the Pendleton Manor in Franklin, WV. She was born on May 16, 1949, in Richwood, WV, the daughter of the late John Pershing “Purge” and Vergie Mae (Hanna) Cartwright.Deborah had attended Elementary School in Canvas, WV, attended Summersville High Shcool and was a 1967 graduate of Franklin High School. Debbie furthered her education and graduated from Charleston Beauty Academy and applied her skills, working with her mother at Vergie's Beauty Shop. Debbie had also worked at Hester's in Moorefield, CMI, Petersburg Elementary School as an assistant librarian.Deborah leaves behind to cherish her memory: a daughter, Amber Hanna of Brandywine, WV; a son, Joshua Hanna of Brandywine, WV; a sister, Brenda Jackson of Summersville, WV; a step sister, Phyllis Hurt of TN; a step brother, Darrell Cartwright of Summersville, WV; 4 grandchildren; a great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.In honoring Debbie's wishes, her body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
