Gene Hagel Obituary
Gene Michael Hagel, 81, a native of Center, North Dakota, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 7, 2026.
He is survived by his wife Evangeline Casaus Hagel; his stepchildren Roberta Casaus, Cassandra Casaus Currie (husband Brandon Currie), and Shawn Casaus; grandchildren Sterling Currie, Sophia Currie, Scott Currie and Ava Casaus; sisters Loretta Roth, Kathy Lipp, Julie Zahn, Betty Yantzer, Jackie Schwah, Janise Matthew, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents George and Frances Hagel, his brother, James Hagel, and his son, Michael Hagel.
Gene was born on June 4, 1944, in Center, ND. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Upon return, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Mary College in Bismark, ND. Gene was a business owner and managed his own companies. He was passionate about fishing and loved to travel.
Gene was a kind, generous and loving man who helped those in need. He will be deeply missed. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Rosary will be held at Risen Savior Catholic Church on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 9:00am followed by a Memorial Mass at 9:30am. Interment will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery on February 26, 2026, immediately following the mass.
