Doyle Dwight Drane, 83, of Hartford passed away suddenly on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026, at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital.
Doyle was born July 20, 1942, in Moulton, Ala., the son of Clarence and Lassie (Harris) Drane, both of whom preceded him in passing. He was also preceded in passing by four siblings: Coy Drane, Richard Drane Sr., Allen Drane and Mary Ann McNeal.
Doyle had a passion for horses. In his younger days, you could always find Doyle riding horses with his best buds. He was a forklift driver by trade, but most importantly, he loved the special times that were spent with his family.
Doyle is survived by his wife, Mary (DeLoach) Drane; two daughters: Katina (Bill) Weeden and Kim (Mike) Evans; his grandchildren: Brad (Kris) Wright, Brandon (Alexa) Wright, Alyssa (Zach) Tharp, Lindsay (Rey) Perez; many great-grandchildren; five siblings: Eddie Drane, B.C. (Louise) Drane, Bud (Sue) Drane, Wanda (Bill) Morse and Vicky (Tom) Chambers; and a very special friend whom he thought of as a brother, Terry Meyers.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 17, at the Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford. As to Doyle's wishes, cremation will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Horses Haven out of Howell, Mich. or any other horse rescue of your choice. Those wishing to leave memorial condolences for the family may do so at www. calvin-leonardfh.com.
