I had the pleasure of working with John for many years. One thing you knew you could be assured of in every interaction with John, was a smile. He was genuinely kind, very good at his job and just an absolutely nice person.
I am sure John will be missed by all, but I hope you find comfort in the good man that he was.

John was an all around good guy. I couldn't have did my job at Family Medicine without him. He always had a smile on his face no matter how many requests I had which were many. He gave his all at Beaumont. John is one of God's favorite angels now looking over his family and others. God Bless John!

I grew up across the street from the Kouri family. You couldn't have had better neighbors than the Kouri family. I was John's age so I knew John the best. We spent many hours playing kick ball and tag games, etc. Long about second grade I told my older sister that I was going to marry John when we grew up. She never forgot that and teased me for years so that is a tug at my heart that he passed so young. We grew apart as teenagers but I am sure John matured into a kind soul as he was such a kind child. Condolences to his family and friends.

I’m so sorry to hear about John. I worked with him for almost 45 years at Troy Beaumont. Many of them in Materials Management. John was a working manager. He was always working right along side of his employees and helped anyone in the hospital who needed something done. He was well known throughout the whole hospital and touched many lives. He will never be forgotten.

John was a backbone of Troy Beaumont. He supported everyone with a warm smile and you felt encouragement just by talking to him. He never passed you in the hallway without that wonderful smile that you knew was truly genuine! A wonderful co-worker to all. Thoughts and prayers for his family.

John aka “Bucca”, where to begin? Always greeting Edie with a big smile at breakfast FaceTimes, welcoming Clifford’s big slobbery kisses and coaxing him around the block when he got too lazy to walk. He was a helper, a fixer, always helping at our house however he could. I’ll miss his big bear hugs so much, and how he always showed up and checked in. I’ll smile hearing him sing “I’ve got a gal in Kalamazoo-ooo” whenever first seeing me walk in the door. I’ll forever be grateful for all of the values he instilled that have been passed on to my family. I’ll see him in Shane as he holds Edie’s hand, keeping her safe as she’s toddling down the driveway. And I’ll be reminded of him as Shane gently guides me to walk on the inside of the sidewalk, so he is closest to the street, every time. John is truly the best father-in-law I could have ever asked for, and his legacy of kindness and family values will continue on for years to come.

I’ll always cherish our memories together. I’ll miss you dearly and love you forever.

John was one of nicest I guys I ever had the pleasure of knowing. I was introduced to him by my neighbors and good friends many years ago and I always looked forward to seeing him (and Paula and the 4 kids too). Sending love, light and peace to the Kouri family. ♥

I like to think God placed John in materials management at Troy because while there, he impacted so many lives. Such a positive guy, that happy smile made me smile. Prayers for comfort for Paula and the family. He loved his family soooo much!!!!

Today was a beautiful fall day - sitting outside kind of day. I know John would have been out, cutting wood, leaf blowing, or putting the lawn mower away for the winter. When he was done fiddling, he would sit out with me. We would share a Coke - even though he always yelled at me when I bought it. We would sit out and talk about everything and nothing. I will miss those times together, just the two of us. I love you John and will miss very much. Sue

John Kouri was one of the best people I had the pleasure of knowing at Beaumont Troy. I was in charge of ordering all the supplies for the Hematology department in the lab. John was always there to help when we had problems with our orders. Like everyone else said, he always had a big smile and helpful attitude and got the problems solved quickly. I had the privilege to work with his sister-in-law Sue and the last time I saw both of them was at my retirement party. I know John will be missed dearly by everyone who knew him. My sincere condolences to all his family and friends.

Every time I think about John Kouri, I picture that huge smile he always wore. My kids and I have so many fun memories of vacations with the Kouris to Traverse City and Hilton Head. He was such a loving father to his own children, and he always treated my kids like they were his. He will be deeply missed, but we are so grateful for the memories we shared with him.

I first worked with John back in the late 80’s and again in the early 2000’s when I returned to Beaumont. He welcomed me like 20 years had not passed and we continued our work relationship for many years. John never said no to any task whether it was something he was or wasn’t supposed to be helping with. He always called me Jillie, which I knew was an enduring term since he had his own daughter with the same name. John will always hold a close place in my heart when I think of what Beaumont used to be. Rest peacefully my friend, you deserve it.
