With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Barry Leon Riley, 83, who went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at his home in Jackson County, North Carolina, with his loving wife of 33 years by his side.
Barry was born on November 20, 1942, in
Spring Grove, Pennsylvania. He lived a life marked by dedication, laughter, and love for his family and friends.
Barry was a retired Boilermaker who took great pride in his work. Outside of his career, he had a deep passion for trains and found joy in woodworking. Whether crafting something by hand or sharing stories, Barry had a remarkable gift for making people laugh with his warm heart and good sense of humor. His presence could brighten any room.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorathy (Gladfelter) Riley; his father, Clyde Riley; his brothers, Gail Riley and Robert Riley; his sisters, Ginger and Jane; and his stepson, Roy Lee Dalton.
Barry is deeply mourned by his devoted wife, Angela Riley of North Carolina; his brother, Timothy Riley of Pennsylvania; his eldest son, Travis Riley and wife Patty of Maryland; daughter, Tessa (Riley) Poteet and husband William of Tennessee; daughter, Candace (Riley) Hewitt and husband Ryan of Colorado; youngest son, Travis J. Riley and wife Brandy of Tennessee; and his stepchildren, Troy Hagy and wife Lisa of Tennessee, Justin Nelson and wife Ashley of Tennessee, and Nikita (Dalton) Wilson and husband Lester of Tennessee.
He also leaves behind a large and loving legacy through his grandchildren: Travis, Savannah, Cassidy, Caleb, Haley, Riley, Braddock, Mianna, Zion, Jian Lu, Kia, Hadley, River, Carter, Adeline, Kaitlyn, Lindsey, Carter, Klarissa, and James; and great-grandchildren, Kadence and Elias.
Barry's life was a testament to hard work, faith, humor, and unwavering love for his family. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by all who had the blessing of knowing him.
