On October 4, 1963, she married Richard “Slick” Battles, who preceded her in death on September 8, 2020. Carol enjoyed her skill of cutting and styling hair- always busy and in demand, loved by many of her clients. She also enjoyed music, dancing, gardening, cooking, taking photos, NASCAR, Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates, getting together with her childhood friends, with whom she cherished and all family holidays, reunions and get-togethers. She loved going to events and activities that involved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, having cheered for many football and baseball games and attended numerous music concerts, high school drama plays, and of course, graduations.

She was a member of the Conneaut Lake Historical Society, Conneaut Lake Garden Club, North Shore Boat Club and the Red Hats Society.

Survivors include her daughters, Kristi (Jim) Sherman of Harmonsburg and Kelli (John) Peters of Conneaut Lake; four grandchildren, Jason (Amber) Peters of Linesville, Zachary Sherman of Conneaut Lake, Julia (Zach) Karp of Greenville and Brandon Sherman of Akron, Ohio; great granddaughter, Cecilia Sherman; two great-grandsons, Theodore and Vincent Peters; two brother-in-law’s, Roy (Pat) Battles of Greenville and Don Battles of Goshen, Indiana; two sister-in-law’s, Pat (Mark) Featherolf of Conneaut, Ohio and Connie Battles of Avon Park, Florida; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a great grandson, Owen Peters, and two sisters, Nancy Senyo and Bonnie DeSalle.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Harmonsburg United Methodist Church on what would have been Carol’s 84th birthday, Saturday, April 18th, 2026 at 3:00 o’clock in the afternoon.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Hwy 6, Linesville.
