Claire was born on September 25th, 1942 and passed away on
February 20th, 2025 at the age of 82Claire Denise (Sweet) Cole, a dedicated and loving soul passed away on February 20, 2025 Surrounded by her children. Born on September 25, 1942, in Taunton, MA, to the late Myron L. and Nolia M. (Jalbert) Sweet. Claire was a thoughtful and ambitious woman who cherished her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren above all else.
Claire was a devoted mother and homemaker. A longtime resident of Rehoboth, she found joy in shopping for the perfect outfit to go dancing and spending summertime on the beaches of Little Compton. After her children had grown, Claire's ambitious spirit led her to become the owner of Crickets Crack of Dawn Breakfast & Lunch in Rehoboth. Later, she worked with Comcast, assisting in the filming of local Attleboro meetings and special events. Her dedicated spirit was clearly seen in all aspects of her life.
She is survived by her children, Raymond Tammany and his wife Ginny of Attleboro, daughter, Coleen Childs and husband Theodore of Rehoboth, daughter Lisa Garrahan and husband Mark of Port Richey, FL and son Corey J. Cole and Nancy Steidle of Maricopa, AZ. her beloved grandchildren, Raymond N. Tammany, Alicia & John Araujo, Brandi & Brian Piche, Joshua Childs & Brianna Douglas, Mark & Kendra Garrahan, Shana & Jason Enos, Alex Garrahan, Jenai Childs & Patrick McKearney, Logan Garrahan & Haley Green, Tiani Childs and Madison Cole; 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband's William Thurber, Alfred Cole and Raymond E. Tammany and her grandson Eric T. Childs.
Claire's life was a testament to her loving nature and her unwavering dedication to her family and community. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her. Claire's family would like to thank the staff at Garden Place for all their care and support of their mother, a special thank you to JR for the blessing you were to Claire with all your compassion and care.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
