ELLA FAY BUTTS, age 93, of Swanton, Ohio, formerly of Manitou Beach and Clayton, Michigan area passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at her home. She was born on April 23, 1931, in Rollin Township, Lenawee County, Michigan, the daughter of Otto D. and Ada A. (Bullis) Goodson.
She attended Addison Schools. Ella married Leonard L. Butts on January 17, 1949 and he preceded her in death on December 13, 1985. She was a member of the DAV Auxiliary Lenawee Chapter #20 in Adrian.
Ella is survived by a son, John (Ellen) Butts, daughters Ellen Butts and Sarah Westfall, ten grandchildren, Rachel Bleich, Elisabeth, Joshua (Marivel), Nathan (Shauna), Mary, and Luke Butts, Peter Palmer, Anya and John Westfall and Ken Lauharn; eleven great-grandchildren – her pride joy- Daren, Paxton (Jacob), Hadlee, Courtney, Marrisa, Wheaton, Jonathan, Ayden, Sutton, Sophia and Gianna; one great-great-grandson, Henry; and multiple nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter Ada; a son, Leonard; a grandson, Jeremiah and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services for Ella will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Hudson with Pastor Bruce Jewett officiating. Burial will follow at Green's Lakeside Cemetery in Manitou Beach. Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:45 A.M. at the funeral home prior to the service.
Memorials are suggested to DAV Auxiliary Lenawee Chapter #20 of Adrian. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Condolences and words of comfort can be left at: www.brownvanhemert.com.
