George Bruce Knight, Sr. of Florence, passed away June 8th, 2024 at his home. Born on February 4th, 1952 to Elmer Knight and Pauline Taylor in Copiah County, he was 72.
A Carpenter by trade, Bruce's favorite activities included working in his shop, fishing, going to church where he cherished time spent with his church family, and spending time with his grandkids. Two things Bruce Especially loved were catfish and fried chicken from Church's.
Bruce leaves behind his wife Sherry Knight; Son Bruce (Sari) Knight, Jr; Daughters Amy Rochelle and Kelsey (C.J.) Martin; Grandchildren Blake (Marissa) Stringer, Tristan (Jen) Knight, Adara (David) Goldman, Devon (Haylee) Buechel, Haven Buechel, Brantley Knight, and Westin Cade Martin; Great Grandchildren Beaux Knight, Hayden Goldman, and Liam Buechel; Brothers Tony (Linda) Knight and Elmer (Brenda) Knight; and Sister Mary (Danny) Bates.
The family will receive visitors at Hickory Ridge Baptist Church in Florence on Tuesday, June 11th, 2024 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. A funeral service honoring Bruce's life will follow visitation at 1:00 in the church. Bruce will be laid to eternal rest in Georgetown Cemetery immediately following the church service.
Bruce was preceded in death by his Mother Pauline and Father Elmer; Brother J.C. Knight; Sister Geneva Diane Cameron; and Daughter Connie Lorraine Knight.
