Wilbur Charlier

Wilbur A. Charlier, 91 of Minonk passed away surrounded by his family at 3 p.m. on March 3, 2026 at Goldwater Care, Pontiac, Ill.

Wilbur was born June 2, 1934 at Crescent City, Ill. a son of Frank and Christina Boomgarden Charlier. He married Eileen R. Carls on May 29, 1955 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Minonk. Eileen died December 10, 2016.

Survivors include brother, Louis (Marilyn) Charlier, Germantown Hills; his sons, Allen (Jackie) Charlier, Dana and Kevin (Michelle) Charlier, Minonk; two daughters, Linda (Michael) Plant, Broken Arrow, Okla. and Deborah Charlier Carr, Minonk; six grandchildren, Deanna (Taylor) Matt, Matthew Carr, Stefanie (Jakob Tracy) Carr, Antoine (Katelyn) Charlier, Kirk Charlier and Zachary (Marissa) Charlier; and four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Charlie Carr; two brothers, Fred and Francis; and a sister, Marie.

Wilbur retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company in 1996 after 30 years of service.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Minonk where his visitation will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 from 9:30 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11 a.m. Pastor Richard Hertenstein will officiate. Burial will be in Minonk Twp. Cemetery. Ruestman Harris Funeral Home, Minonk is assisting his family with arrangements.

His family would like to extend a special thanks to Goldwater Care, Pontiac, Transitions Hospice, and to Wilbur's entire medical team for the excellent care he has received. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his honor may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Minonk or Minonk Fireman's Association.
