Janice Ann (Merkert) Spicer, 87 of Bellbrook, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2025. She was born on October 4, 1937, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of Emanuel Merkert and Evelyn (Lahrman) Merkert. Janice graduated from Patterson Cooperative High School and married Eugene D. Spicer in August 1957.
She was a familiar and friendly face in her community, attending countless sporting events and safely transporting generations of students as a school bus driver for Bellbrook-Sugarcreek local school district for over 40 years. She enjoyed reading, card games, weekly BINGO, and, most of all, spending time with her family.
Janice is preceded in death by her husband Gene, her parents Emanuel and Evelyn, brother Jerry “Butch” Merkert, daughter Laura Trimble, son Dale Spicer, and grandson Max Spicer.
Janice is survived by sons Michael (Durinda) Spicer and Kevin Spicer, son-in-law Kent Trimble, daughter-in-law Amy Spicer, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family request a donation be made in memory of Janice and Laura to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Graveside service will be held on Friday, March 14 at 2 p.m. Mount Zion Park Cemetery, 27 S Fairfield Rd, Beavercreek, OH 45440.
