John F. Sharpe Jr., born on April 1, 1938, in Wheeling, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2024, at the age of 86, at the Forest Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in St. Clairsville, Ohio.
John dedicated his professional life to Ormet, where he worked diligently until his retirement. He was a proud Catholic and a cherished member of the St. John Catholic Church in Bellaire, Ohio. Additionally, he honorably served his country in the Navy.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John F. and Geneva (Krasevec) Sharpe Sr., wife, Rita (Cerasoli) Sharpe, long-time companion, Betty Dyer, infant daughter, sister, Mary Ann Marchese, and brother-in-law, Joe Marchese.
John is survived by his loving children, John (Cindy) Sharpe III of Perry, Ohio, Anita (David) Myers of Bellaire, Ohio, and Jeannine (Ken) Timko of Bellaire, Ohio; step-daughter, Diana Dyer of Bellaire, Ohio; brother, Louis (Sue) Sharpe of Cumberland, Maryland; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins and friends.
Family and friends will be received at the St. John Catholic Church, located at 415 37th Street, Bellaire, Ohio, on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 from 11:00 am until the time of Mass at 12:45 pm with Fr. Daniel Heusel as Celebrant. A private inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family.
John will be remembered for his unwavering faith, dedication to his family, and the lasting impact he made on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
