Leann Edwards Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Henderson & Sons Funeral Home - North Chapel and Crematory - Rome on Apr. 4, 2025.
Leann Christine Edwards, age 55, of Rome, Georgia, a beloved wife, mother, stepmother, sister, and friend, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on April 3rd, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on December 5, 1969, to Bill and Melba Mathias, Leann grew up with a strong sense of family, faith, and humor, something she carried with her through every stage of life. She was a devoted wife to David Edwards and a loving mother to Rachel (Dylen) Royer and Emily (Brady Davis). She also cherished her stepchildren, Megan (Wesley) Seabolt and Dawson (Lindsey) Edwards, eagerly anticipating the arrival of her granddaughter, Rainee.
Leann had an undeniable talent for shopping, with a closet that could rival a department store and a collection of bags that always seemed to multiply. She never met a store she didn't like, and if there was a deal to be found, she was finding it (whether she needed it or not). Her quick wit and sharp sense of humor kept everyone laughing, even in the toughest moments. She had a knack for making any situation lighter, bringing joy and laughter to those around her.
She dedicated many years of service to the Social Security Administration, where she built lifelong friendships and made a lasting impact on her work family before retiring in January 2025. Outside of work, she found joy in the simple things-spending time with family, cracking jokes at just the right moment, and never turning down a good shopping trip. She loved deeply, laughed often, and made sure that the people in her life always knew they were loved and appreciated.
Leann leaves behind her devoted husband, David; her children and stepchildren; her soon-to-arrive granddaughter; her sister, Dawn (Jay); and brothers Ron (Ana) and Joe (Vicki); and many other family members, friends, and colleagues who will forever cherish her memory. While our hearts are heavy, we find peace in knowing she is now free of pain and laughing with Jesus.
A service to celebrate Leann's life will be held at 6:00pm on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, with Pastor Eric Whelchel & Pastor Danny Pelfrey officiating.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, from 4:00pm until 5:45pm.
In lieu of flowers, Leann requested that donations be made to the Ladies Tuesday Morning Bible Study at The First Christian Church of Adairsville, 113 Park Street, Adairsville, GA 30103, a group of women who lifted her up with love and support during her illness.
Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Leann Christine Edwards.
