Maria Francisca Villanueva, age 55, of Palestine, Texas passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025, in Tyler, Texas. She was born on July 5, 1969, to parents Alejandro Vega and Arnulfa Estrada Vega in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
Funeral mass will be held at 10AM on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiated by Fr. Jonathon Frels. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Herrington / Land of Memory. A rosary will be prayed at 6PM followed by a visitation from 6:30PM to 8PM on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home.
Maria was a beloved wife, mother, welita, sister and aunt. She loved to cook for all the family and anyone who came over to visit. She never had a bad day and was always happy. Dona Pancha was very caring, nurturing, welcoming and the heart of her family. Maria had to have her daily lottery ticket just to try her luck. Welita enjoyed watching and spending time with her grandkids and was the babysitter of the family. Maria loved her family very much and they love her, she will be truly missed. The family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with her sons, Jose and Jason.
Mrs. Villanueva was preceded in death by her parents, Alejandro and Arnulfa Vega; sons, Jason Villanueva, and Jose Villanueva; brother, Guadalupe Vega; and 2 sisters, Martha Vega and Dora Vega. She is survived by her loving husband, Jose Villanueva; son, Juan Villanueva; daughter, Maria Rodriguez and husband Miguel; brothers, Santos Vega, Pedro Vega, Gorgonio Ordonez, and Donicio Vega; sisters, Virgina Vega, and Ramona Salinas; grandchildren, Angel, Miguel Jr., Crystabelle, Yisela, Alicia, Dahlia, Fabian, Manuel, Moises, and Misael; as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

La misa fúnebre se llevará a cabo a las 10 a.m. el miércoles 5 de febrero de 2025 en la Iglesia Católica del Sagrado Corazón, oficiada por el P. Jonathon Frels, seguido de un entierro en el Cementerio Católico de San José en Palestine, bajo la dirección de Herrington / Land of Memory. Se rezará un rosario a las 6 p.m. seguido de un velorio de 6:30 p.m. a 8 p.m. el martes 4 de febrero de 2025 en Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home.
María fue una amada esposa, madre, welita, hermana y tía. Le encantaba cocinar para toda la familia y para cualquiera que viniera de visita. Ella nunca tuvo un mal día y siempre estaba feliz. Doña Pancha fue una persona muy cariñosa, amable, dio la bienvenida a todos y ella era el corazón de su familia. María tenía que tener su billete de lotería diario sólo para probar suerte. Welita disfrutaba cuidando y pasando tiempo con sus nietos y era la niñera de la familia. María amaba mucho a su familia y ellos la aman, la extrañaremos mucho. La familia se consuela al saber que ella se ha reunido con sus hijos José y Jason.
La señora Villanueva fue precedida en la muerte por sus padres, Alejandro y Arnulfa Vega; hijos, Jason Villanueva y José Villanueva; hermano, Guadalupe Vega; y 2 hermanas, Martha Vega y Dora Vega. Le sobreviven su amado esposo, José Villanueva; hijo, Juan Villanueva; hija, María Rodríguez y esposo Miguel; hermanos Santos Vega, Pedro Vega, Gorgonio Ordóñez y Donicio Vega; hermanas, Virgina Vega y Ramona Salinas; nietos, Ángel, Miguel Jr., Crystabelle, Yisela, Alicia, Dalia, Fabián, Manuel, Moisés y Misael; así como muchas sobrinas, sobrinos, familiares y amigos.
