Mary Akers Obituary

Mary Ann Akers born June 2, 1953 departed this life on Monday February 3, 2025 at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky being 71 years old. Mary Ann was born in Leslie County, Kentucky the daughter of the late A.C. Pratt and the late Myrtle Stidham. Other than her parents, Mary Ann was also preceded in death by One Brother, Virgil Sampsell. Mary Ann worked at the Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center for many years and loved window shopping.
Mary Ann Akers leaves the following relatives to cherish her memory: Husband of 52 years, Carl Akers of Krypton, KY; Sons, Melvin Akers of Krypton, KY, Raven Akers of Krypton, KY; Brothers, Robert Sampsell of Krypton, KY, Arthur Sampsell & Madge of Krypton, KY; Sister, Deborah Sampsell of Krypton, KY. A host of grandchildren great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends surviving.
Funeral Services for Mary Ann Akers will be conducted on Friday February 7, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home with Thomas Neace and Billy Vanover officiating. The Interment will follow in the Hickory Gap Cemetery located at Krypton, Kentucky. The Visitation will be at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home on Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
