Mary J. Burianek, of Macungie, peacefully passed away on March 4, 2026, at the age of 75, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Allentown, PA, Mary was the cherished daughter of the late Earl and Anna (Gerhart) Scherer.
A 1968 graduate of Emmaus High School, Mary further pursued her passion for art at an art School in Massachusetts. Her love for creativity flourished throughout her life, particularly in her passion for drawing-especially charcoal portraits-and her enjoyment of stampin' up. As a member of Palm Schwenkfelder Church, Mary used her artistic talents contribute to holiday bazaar posters, assisting at craft shows, decorating for Advent, and leading crafts at Vacation Bible School.
Mary's professional journey began as a List Rental Coordinator at Rodale Press, but she devoted 16 years to nurturing and raising her two daughters in which she also volunteered in the Hereford Elementary Library. She returned to the workforce at Weis in Pennsburg, where she worked in the deli department until her retirement.
Mary enjoyed a vibrant life filled with the things she loved most: her garden flourished under her care, and she cherished evenings at local theaters with her husband, John F. Burianek Jr., with whom she shared 51 loving years of marriage.
Mary is survived by her husband, John; her daughters, Heather Scott (Shaun) and Jenny Burianek-Devlin (Patrick); her beloved grandson, Matthew Croissette; sisters, Barbara Kirwin (the late, John) and Diane Reinhart (Dennis); and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041 on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 4:00 - 6:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Parkinson's Foundation at www.parkinsons.org or to Palm Schwenkfelder Church.
