Good evening, I come to you with the solemn but celebratory task of honoring the life of Carolyn T. Beal, a cherished member of the
Milan, Tennessee community, who passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026, at NHC in Milan, where she was born and raised. Carolyn, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, has left behind a legacy of kindness and dedication that has touched many hearts throughout her 83 years.
Born on August 10, 1942, Carolyn was a bright light in Milan from the very beginning. She graduated from Milan High School in 1960, where she first demonstrated her commitment to excellence and community. Furthering her education, Carolyn attended West Tennessee Business School, equipping herself with the skills that would serve her well in her professional life.
Carolyn's work history is a testament to her work ethic and loyalty. She retired after 45 years of service from American Ordinance, a tenure that speaks volumes about her dedication and reliability. Her involvement in various associations highlighted her passion for community and personal development. She was a past member of the Business and Professional Woman's Club, where she undoubtedly inspired many with her wisdom and thoughtful guidance.
Music and faith played significant roles in Carolyn's life. She was a member of the Milan First United Methodist Church, where her spiritual life found a home. Her love for music was evident as she enjoyed playing in the Adult Handbell Choir, bringing joy to congregants with each performance. Additionally, Carolyn supported the local arts as a member of the Milan Band Parents, contributing to the cultural vibrancy of her hometown.
Family was the cornerstone of Carolyn's life. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Cindy Alexander, and son-in-law, Jim, who will miss her deeply. Her grandson, Lee Alexander, along with his wife, Crystal, and her great-grandchildren, Aiden, Caleb, and Lilly Alexander, will carry on her legacy of love and compassion.
Those who knew Carolyn would describe her as loving, wise, and thoughtful. Her presence was a comforting one, whether in the workplace, at church, or within her family circle.As we reflect on Carolyn's life, we are reminded of the impact one person can have on so many. Her unwavering support of her loved ones, her commitment to her faith and community, and her capacity for love are the hallmarks of a life well-lived. Carolyn T. Beal will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Graveside service will be Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Oakwood Cemetery in Milan at 1 PM. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 11 AM - 1 PM at Bodkin Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis or to the
Alzheimer's Association.
