Moses Heziakha Johnson, 77, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Genesis Hospice. Moses was born February 18, 1946 in Philippi, WV, son of the late William and Liza Jane (Kennedy) Johnson. In addition to his parents, Moses is also preceded in death by his siblings, Daisy, Frank, William, Albert and Robert.
Moses leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved children, Angela Johnson, William Johnson and Steven Johnson; grandchildren, Aeliza Johnson, William Johnson, Jr. and Ciara Johnson; great-grandchildren, Demarion McKinney, Kadin Collins and Brycen Johnson; sister, Rosie (Bill) Berdine; many nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Linda, Minnie, Pam Sherry and Becky; as well as a host of other family members and friends.
Moses dedicated many years of employment to Temkin Roller Bearings. He also spent time in Quantico, VA where he worked in the construction industry. In his younger years, Moses enjoyed many fun times, including parties in the graveyard, with his friends in West Virginia. He loved to share stories of his many fond memories. Moses loved The Lord and was eager to share the teachings of the Bible. He was a loving man, but he would set you straight in a moment. Moses loved to be outdoors in the woods, especially in his home state of West Virginia. Recently, Moses was a resident of Maple Terrace where he enjoyed the company of his many friends. Moses loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He will be deeply missed by many.
You may call on the family on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 from 1:30 p.m. until 2 p.m., at Kittle Family Funeral Home, 265 Beech Ave., Philippi, WV. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m., in Welch Cemetery, Barbour County, WV in the Johnson Family Section. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
