Neoma R. Youtsey, 86, died Oct. 27, 2024 at Holiday Resort Health and Rehab, Salina, KS.
She was born on Nov. 18, 1937 on the family farm in Edwards County near Belpre, KS, the daughter of Frank and Hazel (Griser) Hart. Neoma married David John Youtsey Sr. on Dec. 23, 1956 at Belpre, KS. He preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 2024. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a sister Joyce Gwinup.
Neoma attended Fort Hays State University earning her Diploma in Nurse Education; B.S. Science, she later she earned her Master’s Degree in Nursing at the University of Kansas. She was an Associate Professor at the University of Kansas, and taught at St. Luke’s College in Kansas City, Missouri.
She was a member of the D.A.R., and various nursing organizations.
She is survived by a son David John Jr. (Diana), Ridgefield, WA; and daughter Lisa Fountain (Jon), Colorado Springs, CO; 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and 2 nephews and their families.
A private family graveside service will be held at Farmington Cemetery Macksville, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the Fort Hays State University Nursing Program in care of Minnis Chapel, Box 34, St. John, KS 67576
