Richard Krieger Obituary

Richard L. Krieger, 70 of Sunbury passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.

Born in Sunbury on September 6, 1955, he was a son of the late Robert H. Krieger Sr. and the late Marie D. (Knecht) Sheaffer.

Rich was a 1973 graduate of Shikellamy High School.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a construction manager.

On November 24, 1973, he married the former Margaret Dawn Derk who preceded him in death on August 30, 2012.

Rich was a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Federation and the Americus Hose Company, Sunbury. He was an avid outdoorsman having enjoyed hunting and fishing. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Surviving are his son, Thomas R. Krieger and his wife Christy of Sunbury; his daughter, Monica Gardner of Lewes, DE; grandchildren, Tyler Pratt and his wife Amber of Charlotte, NC, Joshua Krieger and his partner Hayley of Charlotte, NC, Cooper Gardner of Lewes, DE and Cameran Gardner of Northumberland; great-granddaughter, Journie Pratt; brother, Ray Krieger of Elimsport; sister, Patricia Clemens of Selinsgrove; and nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death in addition to his parents and his wife of thirty-eight years, Margaret D. Krieger were three brothers, Robert, Ronald and Ralph Krieger; and two sisters, Esther Bucher and Dawn Reichner.

There will be no funeral services.
