Sheila Katherine (New) Godsey, age 65 was born on March 9, 1959, in Somerset KY to the late Bro. Delbert New and Alberta (Keith) New. She departed this life Tuesday January 7,2025.
On June 12,1976 she married Winfred Gene Godsey, who survives her in death.
She is survived by her Children: Glenn Edward and wife (Stacy) Godsey of Monticello, KY. Johnathan Derrick Godsey of Berea, Ky. Scott Douglas and wife (Mariah) Godsey of Monticello, Ky. Sheila is also survived by her Grandchildren: Starr, Dylan, Jasmine, Katelyn and Tori Godsey, Aubrianna Neal, Bently Jones, Mattie, Gabby, Garrett, Thalia, and Tanner Godsey, all of Monticello, Ky and 4 Great Grandchildren.
Sheila is also survived by her sister: Hilda (David) Rose; Brothers: Phillip R (Susie) New of White, Ga, Bro. Regiel (Freda) New, Kenneth (Nancy)New, William (Susan) New, Delbert Jr. (Lisa) New and Steve (Amy) New, all of Monticello Ky. Along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents, Bro. Delbert and Alberta New, she was preceded in death by her sister, Tilda New Branscum.
Sheila accepted Christ as her Savior at a young age and was a member of Clay Hill Baptist Church at the time of her passing. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be missed by all who knew her.
­­­­­­­­­­­­­The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 10:30 AM – 2 PM in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 12, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Hickey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Clay Hill Cemetery.
