Butch Sanders Obituary

Lloyd W. "Butch" Sanders, 91, De Pere, passed away peacefully Friday morning, February 27, 2026.

He was born July 12, 1934, to the late Benedict and Katherine (Geurts) Sanders.

Butch graduated from Nicolet High School, class of 1953. Joining the Army in 1955, Butch was stationed in both Virginia and Italy. After leaving the service, Butch worked at Nicolet Paper Company. Before he retired, Butch also worked at Vos and drove school buses.

He enjoyed woodworking, anything mechanical, and playing cards. Butch also enjoyed yard work, especially tending to his roses.

Butch is survived by his wife Bonnie, stepson Bruce (Valerie) Szprejda, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his previous wife Rebecca (Baeten) Sanders, as well as his siblings; Bud (Helen) Sanders, Earl (Melba) Sanders, Harold (Carol) Sanders, Lou (Ken) DeCleene, Rosie (Bob) Van Dyke and Joan (Steve) Vander Loop.

Friends may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church 1305 Lourdes Ave., De Pere from 9:00AM to 10:45AM on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11Am with Fr. James Baraniak O.Praem. officiating. Military Honors will take place at church, with burial at Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King, WI.
