Tom Turner, 92, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 9, 2026. He was born on November 10, 1933 to the late William Bomar Turner and the late Alethia Smoak Turner. A native of Blacksburg, SC, Tom graduated from Clemson University in 1955. He served in public education first as a teacher for two years and the remainder of his career in industry, spending his last 35 years at Bowater, Inc. as the Personnel Administrator.

Tom was a veteran of the US Army, an active member of Ebenezer ARP Church, and active in the Salvation Army, serving as Chairman of the Board. He was also active in tree farming and received the South Carolina Tree Farm of the Year Award.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley Bridges Turner, daughter, Cheryl Turner Hollis of Rock Hill; his son, Chris Turner (Tammy) of Seneca, SC, and five grandchildren, Elizabeth Hollis Boltinhouse (Josh) of Lexington, SC, Mack Hollis (Crystal) of Rock Hill, Christopher Turner (Nicolette) of Cherry Hill, NJ, Krandal Turner Hathaway (Campbell) of Alexandria, VA and Claire Turner of Clemson, and three great-grandchildren, Mari Mack Boltinhouse, Turner Boltinhouse and Eleanor Hollis.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 10:00 -11:15 am in the Ebenezer ARP Church gymnasium. The funeral will be held in the sanctuary at 11:30 am with Reverend Dr. Matt Allison officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery.

Tom left a legacy of love and concern for his friends and family. It was our pleasure to have known and loved the family. He will be missed and know of our prayers for the family. REST IN PEACE TOM
