CALUMET CITY, IL - Richard L. Kurpela, age 86, of Calumet City, IL, passed away November 1, 2024 in Munster, IN. He was born to the late Walter and Stephanie (nee Andrieszkow) Kurpela on April 25, 1938 in Hammond, IN.
Richard is survived by his loving children, Mark (Sandra) Kurpela and Karen (Terry) Zych; cherished grandchildren, Kenneth (Ashlee) and Lisa Kurpela; precious great-grandchildren, Cole and Connor Kurpela; brother-in-law, Daniel (late Marie) Pawlus; and sister-in-law, Judy Pawlus (late George); numerous special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Christine; sisters, Genevieve Styka and Stephanie Kurpela.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 9:45 a.m. from Castle Hill Funeral Home, 248 155th Place, Calumet City, IL 69409 to St. Andrew the Apostle Church for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial followed by Interment Services at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 3 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday morning from 9 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
