Our beloved Delores E. Smith entered into sweet eternal rest surrounded by her children on February 11th 2025 at her home in Waterford, CT.
She was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 29, 1941 to the late Alton and Bernice Smith.
Delores was educated in the Brooklyn Public School System ad she was also a health care professional. Upon adulthood, she met James Gainer, Sr and to this union six children were born out of love: James, Gary, Gregory, Glen, Terren and Kevin and a host of amazing grandchildren and great grands.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband James, Sr., brothers Russsell and Jesse, Jr and her sisters Lorraine, Barbara and Gail as well as her step father Jessie, Sr.
Besides her children she is survived by her sisters, Valerie Jefferson (Robert), Doreen Milliam (Lorenz), brother-in-law Bardley and her uncle Muhammah A. Aziz.
Delores accepted the Lord as her Savior and she worked diligently in Ministry mother of her church.
She will be remembered mostly for her upside down pound cakes, thoughtfulness, kind heart and her sense of humor. She always had a smile even during difficult times and her laughter had a special way of making people around her smile.
She also believed in the power of kindness and took every opportunity to share a kind word or gesture with friends and family anyone in need.
She will be greatly missed by all.

My heartfelt condolences in the loss of your Queen. Although this is a late entry, my heart aches as if it were today. May God Bless you all Children, Grandchildren and Great grandchildren. Continue to make her proud so her legacy is not in vain

I THANK. GOD MY HUSBAND. MINISTER GREEN AND I GOT A CHANCE TO KNOW MOTHER. SMITH. SHE WAS OUR SPIRITUAL MOTHER. WE HAD A LOT OF RESPECT FOR HER. SHE ALSO WAS THE CHURCH MOTHER OF HERALD OF HIS COMING. COGIC MOTHER WAS SWEET HUMBLE. KIND AND VERY GENEROUS. AND VERY COMPASSION. TO ANYBODY. AND WE WILL MISS HER SO MUCH MOTHER LOVE GOD AND HIS SON JESUS CHRIST. AND WILL TALK ABOUT THE LORD STRONGLY. GOD WAS HER LIFE AND HER GROWN CHILDRENS REST IN PEACE MOTHER WE LOVE YOU!!!!!
