JOHNSON CITY - Eric Phimphrachanvongsoth, age 37, of Johnson City, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025. He was born to Kimberly Stanewicz and Phetinthone Phimphrachanvongsoth and was a proud member of the Johnson City community.
Eric attended Science Hill High School and East Tennessee State University. He was known for his charismatic and thoughtful nature. Eric was deeply committed to his faith and loved his home church, Eastwind Apostolic, where he felt a strong sense of community. He also enjoyed visiting other churches in the area, seeking to strengthen his connection with fellow believers. His greatest wish was that everyone would come to know and embrace the love of Jesus, whom he cherished deeply.
He is preceded in death by his stepfather, Doug Smith, and paternal grandfather, Phanthaveth Phimphrachanvongsoth.
Eric is survived by his mother, Kimberly Stanewicz and stepfather, Mark, and his father, Phetinthone Phimphrachanvongsoth; brothers, Douglas Smith, and Justin Phimphrach-anvongsoth; grandparents, Sarah Greer, Ronnie King, Noy Phimphrachanvongsoth, and Martha Smith; aunts and uncles, John and Danielle Snyder, Stephen and Alida Garraghty, Richard and Rebecca Smith, Tommy Smith, Conley Smith, Santhana Phimphrachanvongsoth, Thongarth and Justina Phimphrachanvongsoth, Alando Phimphrachanvong-soth, Sengdeaun Phim-phrachanvongsoth, and Pakavan Phimphrachanvong-soth; cousins, Noah, Caleb, and Taylor Spuring, Katy Phimphrachanvongsoth and Tip Phimphrachanvongsoth and many others; nieces, Shiloh and Ava Smith; special friends include, Jared Henderson, Brittany Bexton, David Francis, Dylan Hodge, Jamie Ingram, Matt Elvis Dollar, and Pastor Corey Granger.
A celebration of Eric's life will be held at Eastwind Apostolic Church on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 7:00 pm with Pastor Corey Granger officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the services from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the church.
Eric will be laid to rest on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 2:00pm at the Highland Church Cemetery,
Johnson City, TN.
