Kenneth Houghton Obituary

Kenneth Eugene Houghton, 94, formerly of Attleboro passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at the Alliance Health at Maples in Wrentham, MA. He was the husband of the late Patricia (Sweet) Houghton.

Born September 22, 1930 in Pawtucket, RI he was the son of the late Harry and Lois (Pearce) Houghton.

Kenneth was raised in the city of Attleboro and a graduate of Attleboro High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean conflict. He was employed by the Attleboro Fire Department for 25 years obtaining the rank of Captain. He also worked for 3 years for the Forest Service and 10 years as a driver for Ken's salad dressing.

He loved trains and especially driving cross country visiting National parks.

Kenneth is survived by his loving family, a daughter, Carol Lee Pariseau; 17 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; step children, Claudia Koska, Jessica Haberek and Russell Ashworth; his siblings, Lois Eberle (William), Thomas Houghton (Paula), Richard Houghton (late Irene). As well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth J. Houghton; a daughter, Kimberlee Lafond; a step son, Robert Ashworth and a brother, Harry Houghton.

Visitation will take place on Friday, January 24, 2025 from 9:00AM to 11:00AM at the Duffy-Poule Funeral and Cremation Services, 20 Peck St., Attleboro, MA. A funeral service will take place at 11:00AM in the funeral home. Interment with Military Honors will follow the service in Veterans' Memorial Cemetery 301 S County Trail, Exeter, RI 02822.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hope Health Hospice, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.

Some of our most special memories with Ken include Thanksgiving dinners with family, including his grandchildren and great grandchildren. We also enjoyed watching slideshows of the trains Ken photographed during his many trips while fulfilling his love of trains. He will be truly missed.
