Vincent Sghiatti Obituary

Dr. Vincent R. Sghiatti, 71, of Los Angeles, California, formerly of Jessup died September 24, 2024 at home. Born on June 20th, 1953, he was the son of the late Dante and Lucyann Luciani Sghiatti. A graduate of Valley View High School where he was inducted into the first class of the Valley View football hall of fame in 1986, leading member of the 1969 football team, the first to represent the Archbald school on the gridiron. He later would go on to pursue a medical career at Brown University and Pennsylvania State University.

He served as a Medical Doctor of Family Practice for 44 years before retiring. As a medical doctor, Vince dedicated his life to the people and friends around him. As a father, he dedicated his life to his family. His unwavering support and encouragement propelled Vincent and Raquel to realize their dreams in attending Ivy League schools, where they thrived academically and personally. Raquel attended Cornell University with a degree in Environmental Science and Vincent pursued track and field at his alma mater, Brown University, with a Bachelor's degree in Physics.

Surviving are son Vincent R Sghiatti III, daughter Raquel Sghiatti and granddaughter Evelyn Sghiatti, and Bryanna Sghiatti and her two children Mia Yeager and Milaya Yeager; brother Richard and wife Lynn; nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral will be held Saturday with Mass of Christian Burial at 12p.m. in Queen of Angels Parish at St. Michaels Church, 320 First Ave., Jessup. Interment will follow in St. Johns Cemetery, Jessup.

Family and friends may pay their respects Saturday morning from 10-11:30 am in the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, 1003 Church St., Jessup. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Vince's memory can be made to the local scholarship fund that supports students pursuing higher education or the donors favorite charity.
