Adrian Dana Ferguson, age 72, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away on February 1, 2026. He was born on September 20, 1953, in Kingsport, Tennessee, to the late Vernon A. Ferguson and Bernice Burnett Ferguson. Music was one of Adrian's greatest joys. He had a deep love for music and was a talented bass guitar player, a passion that brought him both personal fulfillment and connection with others throughout his life.
Adrian grew up in Kingsport, was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School and later East Tennessee State University. He worked many years at Whirlpool Corporation, where his dedication and steady work ethic helped make him one of the company's top salesmen. In retirement, Adrian quietly devoted much of his time to helping others. Adrian volunteered with Knox CAC, and the Stephen Ministries at Fort Sanders Hospital for several years until his health could no longer allow it. An extremely intelligent & witty person, his mind stayed sharp until his final days.
Adrian is preceded in death by his parents; brother, David (Jan), and sisters, Charlotte and Carolyn. He is survived by his partner in life of 33 years, Marjorie Hansen; his three sons, Josh (Summer), Daniel, and Bobby (Lauren); two grandchildren, Emma and Jackson Vandergriff; brother, Mark (Kate), and several nieces. He is also lovingly remembered by special friends Elizabeth Hansen, Julie Grubaugh, and Jessica Bocangel, along with many extended family members and friends.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of Life Care Center of Jefferson City for providing loving and compassionate care.
A celebration of Adrian's life will be held in the Parish Hall of St. James Episcopal Church 1101 N. Broadway, in Knoxville, on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 2:00p.m. Internment at Gray Community Cemetery, in Gray TN, to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Adrian's favorite charity, The Mission of Hope, PO Box 51824, Knoxville, TN 37950 www.missionofhope.org/donate/. Arrangements by Cremation Options, Inc. Adrian and I worked together for nearly ten years as I was beginning my career in a professional sales role. He taught me many of the fundamentals of account management and helped me learn the systems that shaped my early growth. Adrian was deeply knowledgeable, dedicated to his work, and always generous with his time.
Years later, after I became a RN, our paths crossed again-this time in the hospital setting, where Adrian once more served others as a chaplain. In that role, he offered comfort and compassion to patients and families during some of life´s most difficult moments. His kindness and steady presence were felt by all who knew him.
Adrian, thank you for the lasting impressions you left on a young professional finding his way, and for the care and hope you brought to so many as a chaplain. Though your work in this life has ended, the inspiration you gave and the lives you touched will endure. May God bless you for your many contributions, my friend.

Adrian was a great co-worker in the early Whirlpool days when I worked with him. He was always so friendly and kind and such a diligent worker.
