Alberta Jones Obituary
June 23, 2025
CHURCH HILL - Alberta Jones, age 97, of Church Hill, passed away Monday evening, June 23, 2025, at Church Hill Post Acute and Rehab Center after a period of declining health. She was a member of Morrisetts Chapel Missionary Baptist Church for many years. Alberta retired as a cook and cafeteria worker from Kingsley Elementary and Ketron High School until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband William K. Jones, son, Roger Jones, parents, Dora Gilbert and Clay Hensley, Sr. brothers, Clay Hensley, Jr., Edward Eugene, Bobby Joe, and William Max Hensley,
Survivors include her daughter Rhonda Greear and husband,Darrell of Church Hill, sisters, Mary Elizabeth Stalllings and husband Houston, Betty Lee Perry and husband Neal, all of Knoxville, and Carolyn Ann Larkins and husband Jerry of Gray, a number of nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Visitation hours will be 12:00 Noon to 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Broome Funeral Home, Rogersville.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 26, 2025, in the funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eddie Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Hawkins County Memorial Gardens.

So sorry to hear of Alberta's passing this evening but i cant help but think what a great reunion is going on when Bert enters Heaven's gates to the smiles and welcome hugs from Bill, family and my parents! Her memory is so vivid in my mind! I always wanted to dress like Alberta, walk like Alberta and wear red nail polish and jewelry just like she did! I found this photo in my parents photo album and this is exactly how I remember her growing up. She had such confidence and beauty and I thought she was awesome. Our loss is truly Heavens gain. My brother and I will hold dear to our precious memories of this wonderful woman and the love she showed us growing up! Rhonda you did a wonderful job caring for her and we know what a strong love you and Darrel had for Bert. We are all the better for having had her in our lives and its a comfort to know we will see her again! What a wonderful friend to our family.
