Alice Faye Pierson August 26, 1950 - August 23, 2024
KINGSPORT - Alice Faye Pierson, 73, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord at her home, Friday, August 23, 2024 following a long battle with cancer. Born in Lillington, NC on August 26, 1950, daughter of the late Ander Mark and Alice Faye Crowder Ellis. She had resided in this area for 50+ years. Alice attended Littleton High School in Lillington, NC, and married Autho Scott Pierson on September 28, 1996 at Litz Manor Baptist Church. She retired from Walmart #599 following 20 years of service, also working at Belk's and New Hope Presbyterian Quilting Benevolence. Alice will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mom, nana, sister and friend who loved quilting, gardening, yard work and birds.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Encompass and the staff of Sullivan EMS, The Cancer Center, staff and members and special friends, Steve and Roberta Thomas, Sylvia Crockett, Ron Coleman and Melissa Mullins.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Buck EuLamae John Mac (Buddy).
Survivors include her husband of 27 years, Autho Scott Pierson; daughters, Rhonda Faye Melody (Daniel) of Travelers Rest, SC, Josephine Marie "Jodi" Gates (Brian) of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Ander Patrick Melody, Margaret Amelia "Maggie" Melody, Thomas Melody and Kevin Jackson "Jack" Melody; sister, Shirley Faye Disidoro of Fort Walton Beach, FL; sister-in-law, Margie Thomas of Lillington, NC; half-sister, Lisa; nieces, Lisa and Melinda; special friends, Christy and Seth from EMS and Crystal, her nurse.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at New Hope Presbyterian Church, 1116 Nelms Lane, Kingsport, TN 37665. A celebration of life service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Scott Glover officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.
