Anita (Vanzant) Taylor November 27, 1951- June 10, 2024
GATE CITY, VA - Anita Sharon Vanzant Taylor, 72, went to be with the Lord on June 10th, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. Anita was born on November 27, 1951, to Lynton P. Vanzant. Sr. and Lelia (Bloomer) Vanzant. She was married to her high school sweetheart, Mike, and they enjoyed 51 years together.
Anita was employed at Eastman Chemical Company and retired after 39 years. After retirement, she worked at George Mason Mortgage and Total Insurance Planners.
Anita had a big heart and made many lifelong friends. She was very loving with all she met, but her husband and sons were the loves of her life. All her life and especially the last three years she relied on her faith in Jesus Christ. She will be greatly missed by all.
Anita loved her siblings and family deeply and very much enjoyed gatherings with family and friends. She loved shopping, gardening, canning and cooking.
Anita is preceded in death by her beloved son, Michael; parents, Lynton and Lelia Vanzant; brothers, Donnie, George, and Danny Vanzant; sisters, Connie Morris, Donna Eads, Deborah Vanzant, and Margaret Ann Bradshaw; niece, Angela Shad; nephew, Brian Odle, and great-niece, Katie Odle.
Anita is survived by her husband, Mike; son, Zachary and wife, Lara; brothers, Lynton P. (Bud) Vanzant Jr. and wife, Jewell and Garry Vanzant and wife, Linda; many special nieces and nephews; God children, Julia and Ben Peters; Great God Child, Amelia Rose Little; and many special friends.
Graveside services will be conducted at 5:00 p.m., Friday, June 14, 2024, at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, Virginia with Pastor Jeremiah Riner officiating. Antia's eulogy will be given by friend Julie Horner.
Tim Bradshaw, Andy Vanzant, Travis Vanzant, Adam Vanzant, James Peters and Ben Peters will serve as pallbearers.
Friends are asked to meet at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, Virginia for the graveside service.
