Ashton Forrester Obituary

KINGSPORT - Ashton Forrester, 15, Kingsport Tn. entered into rest Wednesday at home surrounded by his family, after a Courageous Battle with Ewings Sarcoma Cancer.

Ashton was preceded in death by grandfather, Jimmy R. Gibson "Dad".

Ashton was the most loving, genuine, and intentional young man. He loved his family, animals, and video games. Our sweet and sassy boy always put others before his own needs and was loved by so many.

He is survived by his mamaw, Cathy G. Gibson; parents, David Forrester, Megan Dixon and Jimmy Dalton; siblings, Paislee Forrester, Landon Forrester, Carter and Benjiman Dalton; grandparents, Stacey Forrester and Justin Riggs, Paul Forrester, Rhonda Wilson, William Bradley; great grandparents, Cathy Forrester, Wetzel Forrester, "Mammy Jean" Norma Jean Bishop; great-great grandparents, Sue Walters, Lura Mays; aunts, Bailey Riggs, Ashley Forrester and Patrick Hyatt, Kelsey and Dylan Barrett, Shenoah and Isaac Vicars, Savannah Bradley, great aunts, Carla Kime and Kenny, Laura Forrester, Vicki Houseright and Brad, Tina Amos; great uncle, Doyle Gibson; 2 special aunts, Almeda (Hagan) Lawson, Diane Griffin; cousins, Kyndall, Stella, Carson, Caylee, Carmen, Cashtynn, Jayda, Brooklyn, Dakota, Phoenix, Paige, Silas, Jaci, Jadyn, Josh, Britany, Cody, Cameron, Harper, Liliana, Cheyenne, Caydence, Whitney, Cody and Ember; along with several more aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and his fur babies, Cleo, Mollie, Dixie, Fatty and Pretty Pearl.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, October 16, 2023, at Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Jonathan Lovelace and Barnie Fields officiating. Shenoah Vicars, Linda Robinson, Terry Christian Tommy Jessee will provide the music.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday October 17, 2023, at the Clendenin Cemetery in the Purchase Ridge Community of Scott County, VA. Justin Riggs, David Forrester, Patrick Hyatt, Dylan Barrett, Isaac Vicars, Paul Forrester, Jimmy Dalton, Griffin Moody, Hagan Lawson, and Landon Forrester will serve as pallbearers.

Family and friends are asked to meet at 10:45 a.m. at the Cemetery for the graveside service.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Sarah Hale, Makayla Caudle and Ballad Hospice, Dr. Popescu, Dr. Emberesh, Angela Eastride and the St. Jude Clinic, Johnson City, Tn, Dr. Furman, Dr. Ruth Wang'ondu and the "D" Clinic of St. Jude Memphis for all the care of our special boy over the last 4 years.
