Barbara Broderick Obituary

Barbara Ann Gill Broderick, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2023, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. Born on October 23, 1941, Barbara was a kind and friendly soul who touched the lives of many throughout her 81 years.

Barbara was the daughter of the late Benjamin G. Gill, Sr. and Berta V. Leonard Gill. She was preceded in death by her siblings Sandra Nichols, Verna Turner, and David Worley Gill. Barbara is survived by her devoted husband of 31 years, Eugene Broderick; her loving children, Theresa Mowdy Spahr, Carl Marvin Mowdy, Jr., Latricia Mowdy Reed, and David Dewight Mowdy; her caring siblings, Dema Jane Richards, Benny Gill, and Danny Gill; her cherished 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Growing up in Kingsport, Tennessee, Barbara was a native of the area and held a strong connection to her roots. She was a proud Child of God and embraced her Christian faith throughout her life. Barbara's unwavering faith guided her actions and relationships, making her a beacon of love and kindness to all who knew her.

In 1993, Barbara moved to Richmond, Indiana, where she would reside for nearly three decades. During her time in Richmond, she worked for Wal-Mart for over 20 years, forming lasting friendships and connections with her colleagues and customers alike. Barbara's friendly demeanor and genuine care for others made her a beloved figure in the community.

In the last six months of her life, Barbara relocated to Bristol, Tennessee, where she continued to spread her warmth and love to those around her. Her ability to make others feel welcome and valued was a testament to her compassionate nature.

As we mourn the loss of Barbara Ann Gill Broderick, we also celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who made the world a better place through her kindness, love, and faith. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at God's House Church in Bristol, TN with Pastor Woody Wyatt officiating.
