KINGSPORT - Barry Gillette "Skip" Eckert, age 85, passed away peaceful with his wife by his side on Tuesday 10-22-2024 in Weber City Va.
He was born in Syracuse NY to Alton Gillette Eckert and Rita Noreen Manwarren Eckert.
Barry was a proud Marine who served our country from 1956 to 1962. He was a man of deep faith and spent his life worshiping the Lord.
He married his High School sweetheart in 1958 and was happily married for 66 years. Barry spent many years as a care giver for his in-laws and then his wife until his health started to fail.
He had a love for cars and motorcycles. But his love of God and his commitment to the Church were tops on his list.
Along with his parents and siblings, he was predeceased his granddaughter Melissa Wilkerson.
Barry is survived by his wife Janice Eckert. His loving daughter Donna Osborn and son Barry Eckert, 2 Grandsons and 3 Great Granddaughters.
A memorial service will be held at a future date at Holston View Methodist in Weber City. In lieu of flowers please send any donations to Elite Hospice of Bristol TN. Online condolences may be made at Sechrestdavisphillipsavenue.com.
