Dad, I will forever miss you and I will always treasure being "daddy´s little girl". You were such a great guy, handsome, funny, hard working, the king of fishing. You taught us kids and grandkids so much about hunting, fishing, taking care of our elders, love and so much more. Forever in my heart love, Karen your forever "Babe"

Doc was a kind and caring person. His heart was filled with joy when he watch someone catch a fish.
My uncle came to AK to fish with Dic. The second year it became apparent he had slowed down, couldn't cast to get the distance nerded. We talked it out went and picked the largest Zebko possible. The next trip my uncle was able to cast, hook and reel the silvers in. Doc was happier than us both.
When he returned to Japan he was diagnosed with bone, brain cancer and lived about another 9.months. My uncle was a much younger man in that boat that day. I never could thank him enough. Such a great man with the heart of a saint. See you in heaven, Doc. I am trying to do what is needed to make it there with you. God bless you and your family.

In loving memory of Doc, a most wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always. I last saw you at the AK Heart Institute and much to the surprise of your caregivers, you knew me with the most happiest smile. I will never forget our friendship of nearly 50 years. You brought much joy and laughter to everyone. RIP Doc. I love you, from Gator.

Doc was a dear friend. I sat at the Noisy Goose for coffee for many years with Doc and others. I'm sorry I had not visited with Doc for a while. I miss him and know him as a kind and giving man.

Doc and I shared some good times together while working for several of the same construction companies. He was a great person to know and was always full of laughter. I have known Doc for many years along with many of his relatives whom I had also worked with. I was born and raised in Seward where I knew others of his relatives whom I hadn't worked with also. It was a small community back in the early days, and the entire town was like one big family.

Grandpa doc was the only grandpa I´ve ever known. He was the most genuine, thoughtful, kind grandfather I could´ve asked for. I will cherish our memories for the rest of my life. I love you Grandpa

I loved when Grandpa Doc would take my sisters and I out on his boat to teach us to fish! As a kid, one of the best parts of going to grandpas was our early McDonalds breakfast. Grandpa always made sure to get his cup of coffee.

Doc was a friend of my father, Dick Diedrich, when our families would spend time together it was always a treat. Doc teased us kids and always greeted us with a big smile. I know his family will miss him.
