Bernice Christian Obituary

Bernice Christian, 81, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 with her family by her side. She was born in Church Hill to the late Charles and Mary Cox. Bernice enjoyed traveling and spending with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid sports fan especially the Atlanta Braves, Tennessee Vols, and Dobyns-Bennett. Bernice was a devoted member of First Broad Street UMC. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Bernice was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Cox.
Survivors include her loving husband of 61 years, Dayton Christian; sons, Scott Christian and wife Lesa, and Joey Christian and wife Stacy; grandchildren, Clayton Christian, Chelley Allen, Drew Christian, Chloe Christian, Carson Christian, Hannah Day, and Eli Day; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Peggy Fugate (Carl), Libby Larkin (Jim); along with a host of friends and extended family.
The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport. A celebration of life service will follow with Rev. Carole Martin officiating.
