Berniece Strickler Holt, 89, passed away on December 5, 2023, at Bristol Hospice House, after a fall in her home. She was a 1952 graduate from Blountville High School, and a member of Cassidy Methodist Church, where she worked in many positions in the church.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dick Holt in 1994; her parents, Jim and Sara Kate Strickler; her siblings, Jasper and Wanda Strickler, J.W. and Chris Strickler, Forrest Strickler, Alvin Strickler, Bea Elmore, Betty and Fred Davenport, Charles and Shelia Strickler.
Survivors include her brother, Clarence and Helen Strickler; sister, Charlsie and Tommy Poore; sisters-in-law, Frances Strickler and Iva Strickler; brother-in-law, Paul Elmore; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat, Boots.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, December 8, 2023, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow with Dr. Tom Hancock officiating.
Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Josh Horner, Billy Wayne Holt, Luke Lett, Brayden Templeton, Kelly Wayne Strickler, and Joey Strickler. Honorary pallbearers will be Freddie Davenport, Mark Strickler, David Strickler, Jackie Strickler, and Jeff Strickler.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cassidy Methodist Church, 5801 Memorial Blvd., Kingsport, TN 37664 or Emory United Methodist Church, 425 Emory Church Rd., Kingsport, TN 37664, where she was a member for many years.
