Betty Frances Saunders Christian September 17, 1930 - August 24, 2024
JONESBOROUGH - Betty Frances Saunders Christian, 93 of Jonesborough ,TN went to be with her heavenly Father surrounded by family on August 24, 2024. She was born in Bedford, Va on September 17, 1930 to the late Joe and Janie Saunders.
After graduating from National Business College in Roanoke, VA, she and her late husband Jack Christian relocated from Princeton, WV to Bluefield, Va and she worked in the secretarial field. Her favorite part of life was loving and raising her family to love her Lord and Savior as she did.
In the 1980's she and her family relocated to Kingsport, TN where she found her new church family at Colonial Heights United Methodist Church where precious memories were made.
In addition to her parents and husband, being the youngest of seven children she is also preceded in death by her brothers, Jr, Bud , Bernard, and Wilkins Saunders of Bedford; sisters, Mary Jane Salyer of Bedford and Rebecca Day of N. Wilkesboro, NC.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Sandy Christian of Jonesborough, TN; her son, Mike Christian (Donna) of Charlotte, NC; her granddaughter whom she loved dearly, Izzabella Christian of Atlanta, GA; her sister-in-law, Susan Christian (Richard) of Princeton, WV; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Smoky Mountain Hospice for all their loving care.
A graveside service will be conducted at Oak Hill Memorial Park on September 11, 2024 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Chris Brown officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Colonial Heights United Methodist Church PO Box 6027 Kingsport, TN 37663.
