Betty Frances Manis March 24, 1933 - September 8, 2024
CHURCH HILL - Betty Frances Manis, 91 went to her heavenly home on Sunday, September 8, 2024, after a brief illness.
Betty was born at home in Hawkins County to Mid and Emmaline Simpson on March 24, 1933. Betty was a homemaker, raising 4 children. Once her children were grown, she spent many years caring for children in her home and as an adult care giver. Betty loved spending time with her family, enjoyed watching and listening to preaching, reading, doing word search puzzles, and she was a quilter. She was the matriarch of our family and will be dearly missed.
She was in preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Eugene Manis, July 7, 1999. Brothers; Joe, Herbert, Willy and Jim Simpson; sisters, Bertha Crawford, Fannie Housewright, and Evelyn Templeton.
She is survived by her children, Diane Amis (Tony), Larry Manis (Debra), Carolyn Hess (Tony) and Mark Manis (Weisa); sister, Carrie Webster; grandchildren, Todd Amis, Michael and Todd Davis (Nikki), Christy Gordon-Maultbay (Tim), Becky Smith (Mark), Gabe Manis (Sarah), Shawn and Dustin Manis; several great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 - 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Greg Fletcher officiating. Music will be provided Bro. Brian Burchfield. A graveside service will follow in procession to Church Hill Memory Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Davis, Todd Amis, Riley Gordon, Noah and Jonah Smith, Mark Smith.
