Billy Blair Obituary

Billy Burton Blair, Sr.

December 10, 1946 -

November 30, 2025

HAWKINS COUNTY - Billy Burton Blair, Sr., 78, of Hawkins County, was born on December 10, 1946, and passed away peacefully at his home on November 30, 2025, after a short but intense battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Gertie and Irving Blair; and his siblings, Dee, Denver, Jeanette, Oma, Calvin, Polly, and Edna.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Janet Blair; his children, Billy Blair, Jr. and Edna Rossi (and spouse); his grandchildren, Amber Spivey, Billy Blair III, Hunter Overbay (and spouse), and Taylor Overbay; and his great-grandchildren, Kayson and Enoch Spivey, Bo and Bellamy Blair, Waylon Overbay, and Ellanor Absher.

Billy proudly served his country in Vietnam. Following his service, he spent over 30 years working at the Hawkins County Press. In his later years, he enjoyed farming, spending time outdoors, and sharing countless special moments with his great-grandchildren. He was a fisherman, an auction man, and a friend to many.

Honoring his wishes, Billy will be cremated and returned to his home. He requested no formal service, but his family will hold a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars in his memory.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
