KINGSPORT - Brenda Sykes, 75, of Kingsport, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025. Born in Hawkins County, she had resided most of her life in Kingsport. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister.

Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Butch Sykes; parents, Loda and Patty Matthews; three sisters, Myrtle, Merlie and Berlie; two brothers, Fred and Frank.

Survivors include her daughter, Carol Brown; son, Michael Williams and wife, Anna; four grandchildren, Gideon, Harlan, Jasper and Eliana; sister, Shirley Gentry; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral Services will be conducted at 7:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Bud Beverly officiating.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
