Bud Culbertson Obituary

Bud Culbertson

August 15, 1944 -

May 6, 2025

Bud dedicated over 50 years of his life to faithfully serving as a minister of the gospel. Through his ministry, he had the joy of witnessing countless individuals dedicate their lives to following Christ. Known by many as a "walking Bible," Bud had a remarkable ability to recall scripture at a moment's notice. His legacy of faith and compassion continues to influence and inspire those he ministered to.

Outside of his ministry, one of Bud's greatest joys was spending time with his granddaughters, especially fishing with them whenever he had the chance. He also enjoyed spending much of his free time outdoors, working on things that were broken or tending to his garden. These moments brought him deep happiness and created cherished memories that his family will treasure forever.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Janet Culbertson; his son, Kenny Culbertson; his treasured granddaughters, Miriam and Lydia Culbertson; the mother of his granddaughters, Julia Culbertson; his sister, Gwinda Morford; his niece, Allyson (Tim) Davis; and a host of cousins and dear friends.

"Well done, thou good and faithful servant" - Matthew 25:21

He held a lot of revivals in the Scott and Russell County area. We attended a lot of them. There will be a glad reunion day after a while. Another friend has gone home.

I will always remember all the revivals we attended together at Hopkins Chapel, Esserville and Needmore. He was a walking Bible quoting scriptures faster than I could write them down. He would put on demonstrations that helped explain his message. My Mother would always have one of her famous carrot cakes made for him to take home at each revival we attended. He was a Great Memtor and definitely missed.

Always will have great memories of cousin Bud preaching at my grandmother`s house and to make Culbertson and her having to push back all the furniture because Bud would jump over and start running everywhere. Great memories of him, preaching, and watching the Lord use him in many many ways. He´s with his heavenly father now he is finally at peace and happy he will be truly missed.

I´ve heard Bro. Bud preach many times over the last 45 years. He was a walking Bible. He knew it front to back, and back to front!! Now, he is in the presence of God whom he faithfully preached about for so long. His faith has ended in sight.
