Carl David Kennedy, Sr. May 3, 2024
KINGSPORT - Carl David Kennedy, Sr., age 79 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 3, 2024, in Maryville, Tennessee. He retired from Eastman Chemical Company after 33 years of service. David was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Patricia Ann Kennedy, parents Hudson and Mildred Louise Hill Kennedy, brother Billy Hudson Kennedy and sister Nancy Kennedy Blacklock.
He is survived by his loving children, Debbie Kennedy Sudhoff and David Kennedy Jr. and wife Amalia; grandchildren Caroline Sudhoff, Halie (Andrew) Alfont, Kyler Sudhoff, and Hunter Kennedy. He is also survived by a special friend, Jake Frye as well as several extended family members.
The family expresses their deep gratitude to the dedicated care staff of Brookdale Browns Creek and Gentiva Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105) in loving memory of David.
The family will receive friends from 11:30AM.- 12:30PM., Friday May 10, 2024, at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home followed by the Funeral Service at 12:30PM with Rev. Joe Green officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
