KINGSPORT - Carol Ann Nelson, 82, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at Church Hill Post Acute and Rehab Center. Carol graduated from Lynn View High School in 1959. She worked at 1-Hour Martinizing Dry Cleaning Service for several years. Carol also worked as a caregiver for many years. She was of the Baptist faith. Carol enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Nelson; parents, Marvin and Dorothy Jennings; brother, Freddie Wayne Jennings; sister, Janie Stallard; special nephew, Michael Wayne Parker; and special great-nephew, Jacob Halverson.
Carol is survived by her sister, Brenda Parker; three special nephews, Todd, Jesse, and Wayne; stepson, Jim Nelson; several great nieces and great nephews; and special friends, Elizabeth Foutch and Polly Price.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 20, 2023, at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Mike Stout officiating.
Pallbearers will be her nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Jennings and Todd Halverson.
Friends may call at the home of her sister at any time.
