GATE CITY, VA – Carol Jane Templeton, 79, loving wife, mother, mamaw and great-mamaw, departed this Earth on Sunday, April 27, 2025.
She was a member of Gateway Baptist Church in Weber City and was a teacher's aide in the Scott County School System for 30 years.
She was born in Kingsport, TN on July 31, 1945, a daughter of the late Worley and Emma (Wininger) Shelton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, William W. Templeton; brother-in-law, Rufus Wallen; nephew, Ricky Wallen.
Surviving are her husband, Dennis C. Templeton; sons, Dennis Michael Templeton, David Templeton and wife Kim, James Templeton and wife Michelle; 6 grandchildren, Cody Templeton and fiance Samantha, Zachary Templeton and Elisabeth, Chase Templeton and Taylor, McKenzie Templeton and fiance Ryan, Blake Templeton, and Alexis Akers and husband Anthony; great-grandsons, Silas Templeton and Thomas Akers; sister, Frances Wallen; several beloved nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Holston View Cemetery with Pastor Justin Smith officiating. Friends are asked to meet at 12:50 pm at the cemetery for the graveside service.
Pallbearers will be David Templeton, James Templeton, Zachary Templeton, Chase Templeton, Eddie Henry and Warner Brickey.
