Carolyn Ruth "Snoop" Depew

KINGSPORT - Carolyn Ruth "Snoop" Depew, age 77, of Kingsport, TN, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 5, 2026.

Snoop was born in Fayetteville in 1948. She was a loving mom, granny, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with family, doing crafts, crocheting, and working puzzles; but taking care of her grandkids was her favorite pastime. Snoop met the love of her life, Doc, while he was stationed at Redstone Arsenal Army Base in Huntsville, AL. They were married soon after and raised 3 daughters.

She is preceded in death by the love of her life, James Monroe "Doc" Depew; her parents, James William Franklin Griffin and Esther Pauline (Cahela) Griffin; and her siblings.

Left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Amelia Osborne and husband, Jim, Pepper Depew, Katie Allen and Matt; grandkids, Zachary Allen, Hunter Osborne, Jarred Mitchell and wife, Madison, Cameron Mitchell and wife, Paula, Lilli Allen, Grayson Osborne, and Kinzie Depew; great-grandkids, Elliana Carter, Lincoln Mitchell, Lyla Hudson, Colton Mitchel; her life-time best friend, Alice Faye Rowland and husband, Larry; her sister, Betty Harmon and husband, Bobby; brother-in-law, Robert Depew; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Trinity Memorial Centers, 1221 Stewball Cir., Kingsport, TN 37660, at 11 AM, on Monday, January 12, 2026, with Pastor Gary Knapp officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until the time of service.

A graveside committal will take place in Mountain Home National Cemetery at 1 PM, with Zachary Allen, Jarred Mitchell, Cameron Mitchell, Jim Osborne, Hunter Osborne, and Grayson Osborne as pallbearers.
