Carvis Lee Harlow November 21, 1950- September 24, 2024
KINGSPORT - Carvis Lee Harlow, 73, of Kingsport, TN passed away on September 24, 2024.
Carvis was born November 21, 1950, in Bristol, Virginia, the son of James Marion Harlow and Louise Harlow. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother.
Carvis graduated from Ketron High School in 1968, then went on to attend classes at ETSU. Carvis joined the United States Army in 1971 and served until honorably discharged.
Carvis married Darla on February 4th, 1972, in Anchorage, Alaska. They were blessed to be happily married for 52 wonderful years. Darla was the love of his life. They were a match made in heaven and the best of friends.
Carvis worked at Eastman Chemical Company starting in 1973 and retired as a Senior Electrical Technologist in 2014. He took pride and pleasure in his work.
Carvis loved spending time with his family and especially adored being a father to his two girls. He enjoyed playing softball, driving his Mustang convertible, and camping with dear friends. He had a great time watching University of Tennessee football (especially if it was with his son-in-law). His three grandsons were the apple of his eye, and he rarely missed watching them play a basketball game.
Carvis was a member of Indian Springs Baptist Church in Kingsport, TN. He was very fond of his beloved Sunday School class and church family. He loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Preceding Carvis in death is his father, James Marion Harlow.
Remaining to cherish Carvis' memory are his loving wife, Darla Harlow, daughter Lisa Harlow Reeves (Brandon) and daughter Julia Harlow; grandchildren Jacob Reeves (Carly), Lucas Reeves, and Bennett Reeves; mother Louise Harlow, sister Donna Light (Bill), nephews Craig Light (Aimee), Adam Light (Janet); great-nephews Cooper and Cody Light.
Visitation will be held from 10am to Noon, September 28th at Indian Springs Baptist Church in Kingsport, TN with a Celebration of Life to follow officiated by Brother Aaron Rayburn.

Hadn´t seen Carvis in many many yrs since being around each other in the softball times of our lives, but remember what a great man he was. I´m sure he´ll be missed by family and friends, but knowing he is now with Jesus in Heaven is the greatest of comforts! Remembering the family in our prayers
