KINGSPORT - Charles Miller Phipps, 93, of Kingsport, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born December 2, 1931, in Sullivan County, TN to the late Charles and Ora Miller Phipps.
Charles was a loving, kind, and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.
He was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School and a member of the Daniel Boone Car Club.
Charles loved automobiles and was especially fond of his 1947 Federal truck.
He was a member of Vermont United Methodist Church and retired from Eastman Chemical Company following forty years of service.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his first wife, Patsy Hawks Phipps; son, Charles Phipps; sister, Shirley Bruce.
Those left to cherish Charles' memory are his wife, Dorothy Burleson Phipps; children, Jeana Spears (Gene), David Phipps (Sharon), Tina Cole (Boyd), and Ivan Phipps; ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday, February 14, 2025, 4:00-6:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
A Memorial Service will begin at 6:00 pm with Chaplain Steven Spell officiating.

Your loving and devoted care of Bud has been an inspiration to me over the last two plus years I have known you.
You have shared many stories with me of Bud´s life-what a good father and husband and worker he was for so many years.
