GATE CITY, VA - Charlotte Gillenwater Mann passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025, at her residence.
Charlotte was born in Scott County, VA on July 10, 1927, and was the daughter of the late Ernie and Rebecca (Brickey) Gillenwater.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Cecil Carter Mann and several siblings preceded her in death.
She had a love of Christmas, strawberry farming, and especially her family and caregivers. She was sharp and very witty, allowing her to see humor all around her.
Charlotte was a beautiful, strong, and patient woman. So many have been graced by her precious life, and she will be greatly missed.
Surviving is her daughter, Pricilla Mann Hungerford (Tom III), son, David R. Mann (Judy), grandchildren, Jacinda Steel, and Amanda Dean, along with 5 great grandchildren, and sister Jean Lane (Mack).
The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Fred Gillenwater officiating. Durham's Chapel Singers will provide the music.
Burial will follow at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Anyone wishing to do so may make donations to the Fort Blackmore Methodist Church Camp, a cause that was near and dear to Charlotte's heart.
The family wishes to extend their special thanks to the caregivers for Charlotte and Cecil for the past five years for your love and care, you are family to us.
